GEM SHEET FOR BUSY MUSLIMS

Suratul Ankaboot:

  • Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala instruct Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and the lesson is for all of us. “Read that which has been revealed to you O Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam from the book (meaning the Qur’an)  and establish Salah, for definitely Salah will prohibit a person from immorality and evil”
  • Salah should be prohibiting from immorality and evil, so if anyone is engaged in immorality and evil , that means their salah is not in order.
  • Do you know that this salah is a training for us to live our whole lives according to the commands of our own creator.
    1. When we stand in salah, we are asked to look down, why? When we are outside salah, it won’t be very difficult for us drop our gaze wherever we has to, to please the same creator.
    2. I can only utter words that Allah has asked me to utter five times a day, surely, outside the salah I can stay away from foul language.
    3. Similarly, in salah I am not allowed to walk about and talk and I am not allowed to eat, even halaal food, then definitely outside salah, it won’t be a very big issue for me to abstain from that which is haram.
  • When a person read Salah solely to please His creator, without intending anything else, Allah subhana watala automatically develop this person’s Imaan, because, no one is driving them to read Salah besides the love of their own creator.
  • “Qullo Nafsin Zaaikatul Maut/Every soul shall taste death”. Allah repeats it so many times in the Qur’an, because we, human beings are very quick to forget.
  • There are so many verses in the Qur’an, that are repeated, because Allah says; “Remind, for definitely the reminders will help those who truly believe”.
  • Reminding us about death, a few verses down, He speaks about the reality of this life, He says; “The life of this duniya is only an amusement, and a past time, but the real life, is that life of the hereafter”.
  • We need to invest in the Akhirah, we need to make sure we’ve done deeds in order to build our houses in the Akhirah.
  • After that He describes the sincerity level of people.
    1.
“When they are riding in the ship, in the middle of the ocean, and the waves begins to rock the ship, they make a Duaa to Allah with total Ikhlaas and sincerity. Ya Allah, save us”.
    2. “Then, when we save them and we bring them to the sure and on land, suddenly they forget and they now start associating partners with Allah rabbul Izzati wal jilaal”.

In Surah Al Ahzaab:

  • “Say, tell them, O Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, running away will not help them if you are running away from death or from being killed, if Allah has written that against you” When the angel of death at the prescribed time, prescribed place, comes down, that angel will take us, be no matter what.

Surah  Ar Room:
Where Allah subhana watala start speaking about the Romans, it is named after the Romans.

  • “From the signs of Allah subhana watala is that He created you O man from soil and thereafter, you became spread on this earth.”
  • “We created for you for from you, your spouse, your wives, your husbands,so that you can achieve comfort from them, so that you can achieve solace, so that you can achieve the coolness”. He has created love between you.
  • “From his signs that He created the skies & the earth, and He gave you different languages, and different colours, though you come from one source”.
  • Today we have the models of the Globe whom the Globe and the western world look up to, whom, if you look at their own lives, their lives are full of chaos, they don’t have their brains properly in their heads, and yet people want to look like them, be like them, act like them.
  • Allah speaks about how we sleeps at night. “One of signs, that we sleep and we dream at night”.
  • Then, Allah subhana watala speaks about how the rainfall is also a sign. “Look at the results of the blessing of Allah, the rain of Allah, how the word(meaning the earth) becomes green and become alive after it was dead”.
  • So then, Allah says; “That is the one who is going to resurrect you also”.
  • Do you know, every time Allah mentions the rain of mercy in the Qur’an, immediately after that, he draws a paraflows of mankind. He say; When the earth is dead, rain falls and everything grows. When you are dead and decomposed into the soil, beside the “AjbuZanab” the last part of the spine, Allah speaks about how it will remain, small little portion.
  • So, Allah says; Look, we bring the dead earth back to life, we will also bring you after you’ve died back to life. Study the verses of the Qur’an, every time he rain of mercy is mentioned after that, Allah slips in one word or two regarding resurrection of man.
  • Allah says; “Allah created you from weakness,  when you were a child and a baby, you were so weak, you have no strength, and after that He gives you energy” So, Allah subhana watala tells us; I created you from weakness, you go to strength, and after that, you will come down to weakness again, and grey hairs, which means, it will be even worse.

Surah Al Luqman:

  • Luqman was not a Prophet of Allah subhana watala, he was a wise man, Al-Hakeem, he was a very wise man, that is why Allah starts the Surah Alif Laam Meem Tilka Ayatul Kkitabil Hakeem. Luqman was Al Hakeem, he was very wise.
    1. “O my little son, don’t associate partners with your own creator, don’t be bad and disobedient to your parents, even of they try to move you astray, don’t follow them in that, but still be good to them”.
    2. “Fulfill your duties to your creator, engage in your act of worship, O my son, do not become arrogant, don’t show people your cheek, turning away and scream too loud when you talk, don’t scream and don’t even be too soft that no one can hear you, speak properly, with lots of respect, think of your words before you utter them”.
    3. “O my son, even the weight of a mustard seed, a little grain, of good or bad, in the darkest corner of the night , if you have done it, Allah will bring it forth, even if it is lying within a rock.”
  • And then Allah subhana watala gives us a powerful powerful comparison. “If every tree on earth was a pen, and all the water in the oceans was ink, and you used those pens with that ink to write the signs of Allah and the power of Allah, and all signs that leads to Allah’s power, whatever Allah subhana watala has, the ink will finish, the trees will finish and there still will be so many signs of Allah subhana watala.”
  • Then Allah subhana watala tells us in surat Luqman, after mentioning the creation, everything is created, the skys, the earth, everything. Allah says; “This is the creation of Allah, show me, what have those beside Allah created”
  • Allah subhana watala at the end of surat Luqman speaks about the five issues of the unseen, known as Mufati al ghaibi.
    1.
He is the one, who knows when the hour shall take place.
    2. He is the one who sends down rain.
    3. He knows what it is in the womb of  women.
    4. No one know precisely what sustenance he is going to receive tomorrow.
    5. No one knows where that soul will die.

Surah Al Sajda:
Allah speaks about the quality of those who shall get Jannah.

  • “They are the ones, at night, their sides refuse to lie down on their beddings, they get up, when everyone else is asleep, they engage in Duaa and in Salah.”

Surah Al Ahzab:

  • Allah mentions about allice. At the time of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, there was an alliance of people, and they all got together, the different tribes and clans and they went to Madinatul Munawwara, in order to attack them, and Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam dugged a trench around parts of Madina, where it could have been possible for the enemies to come, so now they could not come.
  • Oh’  you who believe, remember the gift of Allah upon you, when all the armies came to you, we sent to them a strong wind, (that means we sent to you members of our army, the wind, Allah’s army) we sent to them a strong army of wind and then we sent other armies that you could not see”
  • He speaks about the orphan child, and He speaks about children at large. Allah subhana watala says; “Always refer to the children with their fathers names. At the time of Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, he looked after Zaid ibn Harith, and Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, they used to refer to Zaid as Zaid ibn Muhammad, Allah says; No! He is not ibn e Muhammad, he is not the son of Muhammad.
  • The example of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallamsallallahu alayhi wasallam.“There is definitely a beautiful example in the life of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, for those who like to follow, for those who remember Allah subhana watala and those who want to get to the Akhirah”.

ORIGINAL TRANSCRIPT

We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to grant us true benefit from the lessons of this Quran, and we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to take us through the waves of guidance and to guide us onto the scholls Insha-Allah to the Jannah, May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala take us there.

Surah tul Ankaboot is a surah we completed this evening and Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala in this surah speaks about the spider web and we mentioned that yesterday. In the opening verses of 21st chapter of the Qur’an, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala instruct Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and the lesson is for all of us.

Read that which has been revealed to you O Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam from the book (meaning the Qur’an) and establish Salah, for definitely Salah will prohibit a person from immorality and evil”

That is the declaration of the Qur’an. salah should be prohibiting from immorality and evil, so if anyone is engaged in immorality and evil , that means their salah is not in order.

Do you know that this salah is a training for us, it is a training for us to live our whole lives according to the commands of our own creator. When we stand in salah, we are asked to look down, why? In order to teach us controlling of the gaze, though there is nothing haraam in the Masjid, but it is best for us to look at the point of sujood, so If we can look only on the spot where Allah wants us to look five times a day, when we are outside salah, it won’t be very difficult for us drop our gaze wherever we has to, to please the same creator.

The same applies, in salah I am only allowed to utter certain words which are from the Qur’an, though the hadith of Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wasallam is correct, can I get up and and read hadith in the first rakah? I can’t! So, if I can only utter words that Allah has asked me to utter five times a day, surely, outside the salah I can stay away from foul language.

Similarly, in salah I am not allowed to walk about and talk and I am not allowed to eat, even halaal food, am not allowed to eat in salah, so If I can close my mouth and I can learn to control these items five times a day, then definitely outside salah, it won’t be a very big issue for me to abstain from that which is haram, for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala . May Allah grant us the understanding.

Now do we see, that if we read salah in the correct way for the sake of Allah subhana watala, it should make our lives so pure that we will be prohibited automatically from evil and immorality. When a person’s gaze is controlled, In sha Allah the rest of the problems of immorality is already solved. Allahu-Akbar! May Allah subhana watala protect us all. So, this is something which is extremely important. Also, when a person read Salah solely to please His creator, without intending anything else, Allah subhana watala automatically develop this person’s Imaan, because, no one is driving them to read Salah besides the love of their own creator.

Now, when you have read five salah a day, solely to please Allah subhana watala, when there is evil to be committed in the same day, a good Muslim will tell himself, look, I’ve already achieved five Salah, why must I spoil the reward by now going into that which is bad and evil. May Allah subhana watala guard us and safeguard us.

Then Allah subhana watala in the same surah, speaks about death once again, and this verse repeats itselves. It was simple for Allah subhana watala to say it once in the Qur’an, just once; “Qullo Nafsin Zaaikatul Maut/Every soul shall taste death” But, Allah repeats it so many times in the Qur’an, because we, human beings are very quick to forget. We remember, tonight we sit here, and we remember, Masha-Allah, you know, forgive me, I will turn to you and so on, and after we leave here, Ramadan is ended, and we just in the back of our mind have that we one day attended the masjid and we promised Allah, one tear rolled on our cheeks, now what happened to all that, we need another reminder, so Allah gives us another ramadan a few months down the line. Allahu-Akbar!

So, in the same way, there are so many verses in the Qur’an, that are repeated, because Allah says; “Remind, for definitely the reminders will help those who truly believe” May Allah subhana watala make that easy for us.

And, Allah is reminding us about death, and whilst reminding us about death, a few verses down, He speaks about the reality of this life, He says; “The life of this duniya is only an amusement, and a past time, but the real life, is that life of the hereafter”

Do you know the 60 – 70 years , the 80 years, the maximum the 100 years that we might live, is nothing compares to the billions of years that are to come . Insha-Allah, may Allah make us meet in Jannah. If we meet in Jannah, after being in Jannah for 30 billion years, and we meet each other and we remind each other of this day here, and we ask each other, do you know what, how long has gone by? and we say; 30 billion years. it’s outside our minds, isn’t it? and then the question comes, how long is it remaining? what is the answer? The answer is; you know what, we’ve only just started. Allahu-Akbar! take a look at the comparison of that. I know I’ve mentioned a Huge figure, but the comparison of that to be 70 years that we tackle, and half of them we suffering the health problems and the marital problems and family problems and dispute and livelihood day night like head and chickens. May Allah subhana watala grant us the understanding, this life is nothing. The true life is the Akhirah.

This is a very very important example.. Do you know how when we are dreaming and in the dream you feel like you’ve lived a whole lifetime, but when someone come and wakes you up, it’s only 15min past, or two three hours past, and that was like a whole story of it’s own and suddenly you get up into reality. Allahu-Akbar! In a similar manner, when we die, we will get up in the true reality, then we will say; Oh that was just like a dream.

Allahu-Akbar! May Allah subhana watala grant us the comprehension of this duniya and the fact that it is just a pastime and and an amusement, we need to invest in the Akhirah, we need to make sure we’ve done deeds in order to build our houses in the Akhirah.

Nowadays, If you have money, and you have planning and architecture and people of disposal and planning a beautiful house, you spend lots of money and time and plan the house, the kitchen must be there, the launch must be there, let me pay an interior designer to tell me what to do and where to do it, and we will spend so much time, four years, five years, the house is there. Touch of a button and it goes.

I know now of certain house there are seen where voice recognition is used to open the gate. Allahu-Akbar! Voice recognition and you open the gates, like how we have cell phones and motor vehicles, voice recognition and it speaks back to you. Allahu-Akbar.

So, we plan and we invest so much money for a house, but how long are going to use that house? Let’s be honest , if I built it at the age of 40, if I am lucky, I’ll be able to use it for another 40 years, agreed? Another 40 years, that if I am very lucky. And after I die, my children will fight about who owns that house, so it’s called a huge problem in anyway, and we are ready, really, we are ready to spend so much time and effort for that house. What about the house of the Akhirah?? What about our rooms and launches and kitchens up there?? Allahu-Akbar! Can’t we read our five Salah to say , Ya Allah, that’s my payment towards the Akhirah. Every time I fast, I say; Ya Allah, that is my payment. Every time you turn away from haram, Ya Allah, I’ve stayed away from haram, because that’s my payment for the Akhirah, Ya Allah, I want another room, I want ac, I want this I want that, Allahu-Akbar! And we explained Jannah a few days back when we said; If you can think of something in your brain, you must remember, in jannah, there is much better than that, we explained it in detail, a few days back.

So, Allah subhana watala describes that, and after that He describes the sincerity level of people, before I mention the verse, let me tell you, when we are in an aircraft, and suddenly the captain announce; “Ladies & gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts, we are going through a little bit of turbulence” and what happens, the plain starts rocking from side to side, jumping up & down, we hold our seats and say; Ash hadu Allailaha Illalah Wa’Ashaduanna Muhammadan abduhu warosoolu. Is that not correct? We read our Shahada, we declare it, and we say; Ya Allah, safeguard us, Ya Allah, forgive my sins, Ya Allah, if you take me away, look after my children. Allahu-Akbar! What is that? The level of Ikhlaas up in the air, when the plane is rocking, that level of Ikhlaas is the same level we need here when we are on earth, otherwise, we become hypocrites. Look what Allah subhana watala says;

“When they are riding in the ship, in the middle of the ocean, and the waves begins to rock the ship, they make a Duaa to Allah with total Ikhlaas & sincerity.. Ya Allah, save us”

That is like what we do when we are in the air, and Allah says; “Then, when we save them and we bring them to the sure and on land, suddenly they forget and they now start associating partners with Allah rabbul Izzati wal jilaal”

May that not happen to us, May Allah subhana watala grant us that same sincerity levels. And Allah mentions it here, to draw our attention, to prepare for the Akhirah.

In one of the verses we read tonight, Allah says, In surah tul Ahzaab;

“Say, tell them, O Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, running away will not help them if you are running away from death or from being killed, if Allah has written that against you”

It will not help you. When the angel of death at the prescribed time, prescribed place, comes down, that angel will take us, be no matter what. So, remember, whether it is in the air, 37000 feet above sea level or whether it is in the oceans or whether it is on the land or in the high rank building or whatever we have, remember, we can not run away from the command of Allah and the decree of Allah subhana watala. May Allah grant us understanding.

The next surah is surah tul Room, where Allah subhana watala start speaking about the Romans, it is named after the Romans. And Allah speaks about how they lost against the persians, and Allah subhana watala speaks about various issues in the surah, from amongst these issues, am sure, we heard the verses being repeated tonight; “Wamin Aayati hi” from amongst the signs of Allah. There is a whole list of things that are mentioned there. The first thing, Allah says;

From the signs of Allah subhana watala is that He created you O man from soil and thereafter, you became spread on this earth..”

What a sign! Imagine, we start of with one, and then is the progeny, like how some of us who know our great great grandfathers, we realize that he is one, through him we are related to 70-80-100-200 other people. The same applies to Adam as and Nuh as, so Allah subhana watala speaks about that being a sign.

Another sign, for those who ponder, Allah says: “We created for you for from you, your spouse, your wives, your husbands,so that you can achieve comfort from them, so that you can achieve solace, so that you can achieve the coolness”

May Allah subhana watala grant us marriages that are full of coolness and not marriages that are full of heat. Allahu-Akbar! As there is the norm nowadays, everyone is complaining. May Allah subhana watala make us happy with what we have and help us really to assist one another.

Allah subhana watala says; He has created love between you.

You know, when you are married to someone, the minute you utter those words; Yes, I have accepted her in my marriage. Automatically there is that strong feeling in heart, a strong feeling, very very possessive. May Allah subhana watala grant us really that feeling, that is the best for our marriages.

Then, Allah subhana watala describes something else, Allahu-Akbar! Allah says; “From his signs that He created the skies & the earth, and He gave you different languages, and different colours, though you come from one source”

Just think about it for a moment, If all of us looked exactly the same? And we were all the same colour. Do you know, I have thought about it, we wouldn’t have names, we would have numbers, we would have numbers and barcodes, as you pass people know, that’s me that’s my wife, Allahu-Akbar! Life would be so boring, because everyone would look the same.. If one had a pimple on cheen, the who world has a pimple exactly there, you would need a number to differentiate you, we as men are so weak, we can not even differentiate identical twins, what about, if all humanity was the same? So Allah says; One of His signs, He made you different. That is why, no one must be; Oohh I am too fat, I am too small, I am too short, I am too tall, Someone somewhere will like what you are like, Allahu-Akbar! You will find the spouse, don’t worry.

Some of the women folk, nowadays, go on their diets, which make them see stars. Why? because there is no nutritious, they begin to feel; Ohh I am possessed by a jinn, I hear sounds at night, sheikh please cure me. The cure for that is a little bit of chocolate, some yogurt, some red meat, and Insha-Allah you’ll sleep well, there won’t be any sounds Insha-Allah, you won’t hear things.. why? because to abstain from things Allah made Halaal and permissible, you begin to see stars, because you want to look very very thin and small. Some countries of the Globe, Wallahi, they put the women folk in a room with potatoes and water they’ve stored, and they say; eat, until you weight 70 kg, then you come out. I am not joking, go to Mauritania and ask them what happens there. May Allah subhana watala protect us all. (It used to happened, I don’t know about it know)

So, Allah subhana watala is trying to show us, that it is a blessing that you are different, don’t all try to be like that women or this one here. May Allah subhana watala grant us understanding. I am sure you’ve all realized that the message is more for the women folk, because, really, we are suffering.

Today we have the models of the Globe whom the Globe and the western world look up to, whom, if you look at their own lives, their lives are full of chaos, they don’t have their brains properly in their heads, and yet people want to look like them, be like them, act like them. Allahu-Akbar! When we have the example of Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid ra, Aaisha ra and the likes, and we are far away. As I mentioned in Jummah today, what do we know about Aaisha ra, some of our daughters know more about Britney spears than Aaisha ra. What an Insult! May Allah subhana watala grant us the ability to rectify that. Aameen.

So, Allah subhana watala speaks about the different colours, Allah speaks about how we sleeps at night, Allahu-Akbar! then He says; “One of signs, that we sleep and we dream at night”

You know, what a big sign of Allah that is? Let me give you an example to bring it closer to your minds. When you walk into a room and you see two people sleeping, you will only notice snoring (may Allah protect us from snoring) you will only notice snoring, but one man might be in his dream being frozen in a cold room and a freezer room and he is suffering in his dream..And the one next to him might be burnt in a fire, and they are both screaming and yelling for help, but when you walk past them, they are both snoring, right next to each other, this one can’t feel the cold and that one can’t feel the heat of that ones fire. Allahu-Akbar! And the two are right next to each other. Nobody has ever developed a machine where you can put it on the forehead and say; this is what they are dreaming. Allahu-Akbar, these are the signs of Allah. That’s the creator He speaks about it here in the surah –

And Allah subhana watala speaks about so much more in the Surah, Wallahi, we ask Allah subhana watala to grant us the benefit of what He has mentioned.

Then, Allah subhana watala speaks about how the rainfall is also a sign. The wind that is sent by Allah. The wind comes with glad tiding sometimes, you see the clouds being driven by the wind. Allah subhana watala says that’s a sign of Allah, and when it rains, Allah subhana watala says;

“Look at the results of the blessing of Allah, the rain of Allah, how the word(meaning the earth) becomes green and become alive after it was dead”

You know, when you have no greenery at all, suddenly you have good rainfall, what happens? everything becomes green. Allah says; Suddenly it blossom and it grown”. Allahu-Akbar.

So then, Allah says; “That is the one who is going to resurrect you also”

Do you know, every time Allah mentions the rain of mercy in the Qur’an, immediately after that, he draws a paraflows of mankind. He say; When the earth is dead, rain falls and everything grows. When you are dead and decomposed into the soil, beside the “AjbuZanab” the last part of the spine, Allah speaks about how it will remain, small little portion.

Allah says; After the trumpton is blown, we will cause a white thick rain to rain on earth for a period of forty, whether it’s years or month or weeks, we are not sure, hadith does not mention exactly what, but it will rain for a period of time and we will grow like how trees grow. Did we ever know that? each one of us will grow almost 18 meter tall, 60 feet tall, upto the age of 33 according to some of the narration. Those who have died post puberty, no matter what you’ve dies, so long it was post puberty, you will be risen right up to a standard age.

So, Allah says; Look, we bring the dead earth back to life, we will also bring you after you’ve died back to life. Study the verses of the Qur’an, every time he rain of mercy is mentioned after that, Allah slips in one word or two regarding resurrection of man. Allahu-Akbar! That’s what Allah subhana watala has done here.

And Allah mentions, in the same surah, Surah tul Rum, towards the end. Allah says; “Allah created you from weakness, when you were a child and a baby, you were so weak, you have no strength, and after that He gives you energy” Masha-Allah everyone feel strong, especially teenager, when you feel you can beat up the whole world, Allahu-Akbar! Anyone starts with you, you look at them, and you breath heavily, like you’re saying; come here, I’ll sort you out. That is a feeling that people get at the teenage. Allah says; we know that thats the feeling they get, bumped & bubbled with energy, because one day, we will return them back to weakness, they must know that thats our plan.

When you get on the top of the mountain, you can’t stay there forever, you’ve got to come down to eat something, Insha-Allah. Unless, you’ve taken a bit of lunch, when your lunch finish, you still have to come down.

So, Allah subhana watala tells us; I created you from weakness, you go to strength, and after that, you will come down to weakness again, and grey hairs, which means, it will be even worse. That is why, sometimes old people, you’ve got to forgive them, sometimes, you’ve got to understand, there might be a generation gap, they might utter words full of wisdom, but sometimes we don’t understand them. May Allah subhanahu watala grant us the ability to respect those how are old, and may Allah subhana watala grant them all really a good life, full of good health, and may He take them when He knows it’s best to take them and even us. May He take us away when He knows it’s the best time to take us away, Insha-Allah. Aameen.

Then Allah subhana watala in the next surah, He named it Surah tul Luqman. Luqman was not a Prophet of Allah subhana watala, he was a wise man, Al-Hakeem, he was a very wise man, that is why Allah starts the Surah Alif Laam Meem Tilka Ayatul Kkitabil Hakeem. Luqman was Al Hakeem, he was very wise.

So, Allah subhana watala speaks about this man whom it is said it was from Africa, he gave good advice, very wise man, very good advice to his child and Allah makes mention of that advice here. “O my little son, don’t associate partners with your own creator, Don’t be bad and disobedient to your parents, even of they try to move you astray, don’t follow them in that, but still be good to them” Allahu-Akbar!

Then he says; “Fulfill your duties to your creator, engage in your act of worship, O my son, do not become arrogant, don’t show people your cheek, turning away and scream too loud when you talk, don’t scream and don’t even be too soft that no one can hear you, speak properly, with lots of respect, think of your words before you utter them”. Allah speaks about that here, the advice, in Qur’an, the Luqman as gave his son.

He also said; “O my son, even the weight of a mustard seed, a little grain, of good or bad, in the darkest corner of the night , if you have done it, Allah will bring it forth, even if it is lying within a rock.”

Do you know, underneath a rock is one thing, but inside the rock.. Allhu-Akbar. Even that Allah knows. May Allah subhana watala grant us understanding.

So, that is surah Luqman, Allah subhana watala speaks about that is Surah Luqman. And then Allah subhana watala gives us a powerful powerful comparison. Do you know the trees, all the trees in creation, they are so many, we will never be able to count them, Allah says; If every tree on earth was a pen, and all the water in the oceans was ink, and you used those pens with that ink to write the signs of Allah and the power of Allah, and all signs that leads to Allah’s power, whatever Allah subhana watala has, the ink will finish, the trees will finish and there still will be so many signs of Allah subhana watala.”

Allahu-Akbar!

And, Allah subhana watala tells us something even more powerful. In the end of surah tul kahf, Allah subhana watala says regarding the oceans; “Even if we multiplied so many folds, the seas and oceans and the water in it, still that water will finish and the signs won’t finish” Allahu-Akbar! That is the power of Allah.

Then Allah subhana watala tells us in surat Luqman, after mentioning the creation, everything is created, the skys, the earth, everything. Allah says; “This is the creation of Allah, show me, what have those beside Allah created” we have seen what Allah has created, now show us what those beside Allah has created.

A few surah’s back we heard that they have not created a fly, they will never be able to create even a fly. Allahu-Akbar. May Allah grant us the ability to understand His greatness and His power.

Allah subhana watala at the end of surat Luqman speaks about the five issues of the unseen, known as Mufati al ghaibi. The five keys of the unseen, none can know them beside Allah. Let’s go through them..

The first thing; He is the one, who knows when the hour shall take place. Day of Qiyamah, nobody knows beside Allah subhana watala, Yes, when Allah tells the angel to blow the trumpet, so the angel shall know, even the angels don’t know right now. Only Allah knows that.

He is the one who sends down rain. Where rain, how much rain, the exact components of that droplet of rain, whether it is acidic rain or not, whether it is beneficial or not, how it’s going to fall, when it’s going to fall, what it’s going to do as result, that only Allah knows. May Allah subhana watala grant us understanding.

He knows what it is in the womb of women. ONLY He knows, no one else knows. Now, some people begin to say; well, I can tell the sex of the child, it’s female, we’ve seen it in the scan. Allah did not say; He knows “who” is there, no, He knows “what” is there. Do you know there is Amino fluid in the womb? What is the exact component of that Amnio fluid, you won’t know, and if you test it, it will not be as accurate as what Allah subhana watala knows, but even if one day, man comes about with some technology to find that out, let me tell you what else man does not know about in that womb. The precise date of birth of that child, in that child going to have good fortune or bad, let the machine of the duniya calculate that! it is written in the womb already. How much sustenance is that child going to have, it’s written there already. Allahu-Akbar! Bring the machines now of the duniya, let’s see. So, to know the sex of the child is something minor.

Don’t even think that the Qur’an have problem in it and now we know technology is proving that this is wrong. Some people I’ve heard are asking me the question, “You know sheikh, the Qur’an says; only Allah knows what is in the womb, what about me, I know that is a male child” I say; no, listen, you have not understood it. This is what Allah means, so, you tell me, when the child is going to be born, when the child is going to die, what type of health the child will have, when the bones are gonna break of the child, if they made to be broken or how the child will look then years later, how many pimples the child will have and so on. Sorry for speaking about those today, May Allah subhana watala grant us all good skin Insha-Allah, and may He cure those who have diseases of the skin.

No one know precisely what sustenance he is going to receive tomorrow. What you going to eat tomorrow, you don’t know. You might plan, but Allah is the only one who can make that plan succeed or fail. You can plan to do something and Allah can decide, no ways, this is not going to happened. Allah will create a situation that can change the whole thing.

Then, Allah says; No one knows where that soul will die. On which land it will die. Allah might take you to a far of land, to Makka and Madina and you might die there. When you go and you think you are going for Hajj and you don’t return. Allahu-Akbar it is possible. May Allah grant us a beautiful death, there in Madinatul Munawwarah. So, this is what Allah’s plan is, no one can tell when they are going to die. May Allah subhana watala grant us all protection. How many times, the doctors tell you, you’ve had two weeks to live and you live 6year down the line. 6 year down the line, healthy and fit. Allahu-Akbar! it has happened and am sure it is happening here in your city as well, because, man can utter through their experience, but they can not confirm it and sign all their wealth, to say that this man is dying in the next five minutes, say that I can sign every piece of wealth I have, they can take a risk, If Allah wants, it might happen, but Allah is the only one who knows whether it will happen or not.

Then, in the next surah, suratul Sajda, Alif Laam Meen, Al-Sajda. Allah subhana watala speaks about the Sajda, of those who believe. And, Allah speaks about the quality of those who shall get Jannah. “They are the ones, at night, their sides refuse to lie down on their beddings, they get up, when everyone else is asleep, they engage in Duaa and in Salah.” Those are people who will earn Jannah.

Didn’t we read a Sajda tonight? That was Allah, describing for us, those who believe, they fall prostrate, immediately we fell prostrate because we believe. Allahu-Akbar! That was the Sajda that we read. And Allah continues to describe these good deeds. May Allah make us from amongst those who get up at least sometimes, in the night. I have said it in the past, it is not a condition that you read Tahajjud, you can set your clock even for two minute that time, raise your hand when the clock rings, saying; Ya Allah, I know you are calling at this moment at time, Ya Allah I am one who want you mercy, have mercy on me, and then close your hands and go back to sleep. At least, you’ve called out in the Mubarak hour, that blessed hour. May Allah grant us the power to do that.

Then Allah subhana watala commences another Surah, known as surah tul Ahzab. The Surah where the Allice are mentioned. Which Allice? At the time of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, there was an alliance of people, and they all got together, the different tribes and clans and they went to Madinatul Munawwara, in order to attack them, and Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam dugged a trench around parts of Madina, where it could have been possible for the enemies to come, so now they could not come. Allah subhana watala speaks about that, and He mentions that in the Surah, and He says; “Oď you who believe, remember the gift of Allah upon you, when all the armies came to you, we sent to them a strong wind, (that means we sent to you members of our army, the wind, Allah’s army) we sent to them a strong army of wind and then we sent other armies that you could not see” Meaning, the angels also came down to help the believers to help at that time. May Allah subhana watala protect us in every single way.

At the beginning of the Surah, Allah speaks about something very important. He speaks about the orphan child, and He speaks about children at large. Allah subhana watala says; “Always refer to the children with their fathers names” so and so, son of so and so, and then the sir name. The sir name should be the fathers sir name, not the mothers. Always! Allah says that here; Call them with their fathers names. On the day of Qiyamah, we will be called with our fathers names, what’s the use of cheating.

Normally and usually with us, because of our weakness, after a divorce, what happens.. the mother wants the name of the children to be the after her name, for what Allah says here that it is a major major sin. On the day of Qiyamah, the child will not be called with their mothers name, no ways. So much so that on marriage, a woman has the right to maintain her own maiden name, that is the Islamic name. Why do we change our names and we become mrs so and so, instead of, let’s say for example we have Khadijah daughter of Abdullah and wife of abdul-Aziz, right? So, we say; Khadijah bint e Abdullah (Khadijah the daughter of Abdullah), that will not change even on the day of Qiyamah, she will be called out by that name, no matter what.

Now, because of immigration purpose, to make thing easy for us in the Duniya that we’re living in, it will not be prohibited in our case to call her; Khadijah, the wife of… So, now the words that are missing, not daughter of, there are now the wife of, so you’re not cheating, you’re not lying, hiding, you’re not stealing, but you are just now referring to her as the wife of Abdul-Aziz, but still it is preferred to say; Khadijah daughter of Abdullah, in Islam. And If we are cheating, deceiving, stealing, meaning we trying to kond the people, there is absolutely Haram to utter those words. So, remember, no matter what, you call the child with the fathers name and the fathers sir name, no matter what. Allah says; if you don’t know the fathers name, in the case of a lost person, then you can just call them connected to, but you can not refer to them as your own children. May Allah subhana watala grant us understanding.

At the time of Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, he looked after Zaid ib Harith, and Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, they used to refer to Zaid as Zaid ibn Muhammad, Allah says; No! He is not ibn e Muhammad, he is not the son of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. You call him exactly who he is. May Allah subhana watala make us strong, especially after a divorce has taken place, may He not let us lose our Imaan by changing the names, just because we want this child not to know the father. May Allah subhana watala protect us all. It is happening with people who call themselves Muslims.Wallahi, we can make a change now and here and today! And we can promise Allah, we can tell the child. Even if you adopted a child, the child may use your name for purpose of paperwork, but make sure you’ve told the child very early, that, you know what, we love you so much, really, you are like a son to us, but you are the child of someone else, we are looking after you. That is your Islamic duty, because on the day of Qiyamah, the child will be called with another name, you don’t want to bear the embarrassment, when the child looks at you and say; you never told me that I was the son of so and so! May Allah subhana watala protect us.

Then Allah subhana watala speaks in the Surah, also about the example of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and He says;

There is definitely a beautiful example in the life of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, for those who like to follow, for those who remember Allah subhana watala and those who want to get to the Akhirah”

Everything in our lives, we should understand, we MUST follow Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam’s example, so much so that even the Duaa’s he made. He said; O Allah, save me from jealousy (he was not jealous) save me from stinginess (he was not stingy)” but, he made all Duaas, so that if we follow his example, automatically we will be making the same Duaas. What a powerful example! May Allah subhana watala grant us the ability to study his pbuh life, and to understand how he dealt with everyone, how he traded, what type of a businessman he was, how he dealt with his enemies, how forgiving he was, how he dealt with his family members, how we should be dealing with our own spouses. May Allah subhana watala make us all strong and grant us ability to follow that example. Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.
