“GEM SHEET FOR BUSY MUSLIMS”

Just like Salah is a gift for the Ummah, so is Surah Al-Fatihah. Prophet Mohammed (saws) said when he was sitting with Jibrielalaysalam, he was told that a door has been opened in heaven which has never been opened before and an angel has descended from this door who has never descended before. The angel tells Prophet Mohammed (saws) congratulations for two lights that have never been given to any Prophet before you – first is Surah Al-Fatihah and second is the last 3 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah.

  • Al ḥamdulillāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīnAll the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists): We are the slaves of Allah (swt). The Rab is the master who protects us, guides us, sustains us and we ask Allah (swt) for all these blessings.
  • Arraḥmāni r-raḥīmThe abundantly Merciful and the Constantly Merciful.
  • The believers are those whose hearts shake with the love of Allah (swt). Just like when a man remembers his wife with love he says he is overcome by shivers just like a bird is when it’s wet. Allah has bestowed upon us his blessings – only 1% of all his blessings are here in Duniya all the remaining 99% of his blessings are for the Akhirah.
  • Mālikiyawmi d-dīnThe Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). Master of the day when all the debts are paid and we will all have to pay our debts on the Day of Judgment.
  • IyyākanaʿbuduwaiyyākanastaʿīnYou (Alone) we worship and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). It is only you whom we worship and whom we seek help from. Allah (swt) says it solves the 2 greatest diseases of the heart – show off and arrogance.
  • Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa al-mustaqīmGuide us to the Straight Path. Without guidance we are doomed, we need guidance here in this world and also in the here-after. Al-siraat is above hell fire and it is as thin as the hair. Every one of you is going to cross this path – so we need guidance from Allah to cross this path. On the Day of Judgment the believers will have light around them, but the disbelievers and hypocrites will not have this light, they will not be able to cross the Al-siraat. This Dua is the most beneficial dua that one can make.
  • Ṣirāṭa al-laḏīnaanʿamtaʿalayhimġayri l-maġḍūbiʿalayhimwalā ḍ-ḍāllīnThe path of those whom Your blessings are upon, not of those whom You have cursed nor of those who have gone astray

The one who obeys Allah (swt) and his messenger and they will be with those of the righteous in jannah. Don’t just say the Dua, relate to the meaning of this Dua. Surah Al-Fatiha is full of meaning.

Allah, the Glorious and Exalted said, “I have divided the prayer between Myself and my servant equally and My servant shall be granted what he asked for.”

  1. Therefore when the slave says “Al ḥamdulillāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn” “praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds”, then Allah(swt) says “hummadinabidhi” “my slave has praised me”
Every time we recite a verse from Suah-Al-Fatiha Allah replies to it. He calls us by the title ‘Abdihi’, it is a good title, and one finds the completeness and humility. The greatest title we can be called is this – slave of Allah (Swt).
  2. When we say “Arraḥmāni r-raḥīm” “The Abundantly Merciful , the constantly merciful”Allah (swt) says “aythnaalyheabidhi” “My slave has layered praise upon me”
  3. “Malikiyonmiddeen” “Master of the Day of Judgment”, Allah (swt) says “majadeeniabidhi” “my slave has magnified Me”
  4. “Iyyākanaʿbuduwaiyyākanastaʿīn”  “It is only You we worship and It is only You we ask for help” Allah(swt) says “Hadabayeneaaabidhi” “this is between me and my slave and for my slave is whatever he asks” Even if you are a simple person or sinful person, Allah(swt) says this is between me and my slave.
  5. “Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa al-mustaqīm. Ṣirāṭa al-laḏīnaanʿamtaʿalayhimġayri l-maġḍūbiʿalayhimwalā ḍ-ḍāllīn” “Guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom You have favored, not the path of those who receive Your anger, nor of those who go astray”.
Allah (swt) says“All this is for My slave, and my slave shall have what he asked for”

Just like Salah is a gift for the Ummah, similarly Surah Al-Fatihah is a gift for the Ummah. Prophet Mohammed (saws) said when he was sitting with Jibrielalaysalam, he was told that a door has been opened in heaven which has never been opened before and an angel has descended from this door who has never once descended before. The angel tells Prophet Mohammed(saws) congratulations with 2 lights that have never been given to any Prophet before you – first is Surah Al-Fatihah and second is the last 3 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah.

Surah Al-Fatihah: A door opens in heaven which was never opened before, an angel descends from that door which has never been done before and a Surah was gifted to Prophet Mohammed (saws) which had never been gifted to any other Prophet before.

Al ḥamdulillāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn– All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists). We are the slave of Allah (swt). The Rab is the master who protects us, guides us, sustains us and we ask Allah (swt) for all these blessings.

Arraḥmāni r-raḥīm– The abundantly Merciful and the Constantly Merciful. There was slave girl who was purchased by a man, when the man tell her she laughs, and asks him to recite anything from the Quran, the man starts with–Bismillāhir-raḥmānir-raḥīm – the girl sighs with love when she hears it. The believers are those whose hearts shake with the love of Allah (swt). Just like when a man remembers his wife with love he says he is overcome by shivers just like a bird is when it’s wet. Allah has bestowed upon us his blessings – only 1% of all his blessings are here in Duniya all the remaining 99% of his blessings are for the Akhirah.

Mālikiyawmi d-dīn– The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). Master of the day when all the debts are paid and we will all have to pay our debts on the Day of Judgment.

Iyyākanaʿbuduwaiyyākanastaʿīn– You (Alone) we worship and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). It is only you whom we worship and whom we seek help from. Allah (swt) says it solves the 2 greatest diseases of the heart – show off and arrogance. Before we do anything we need ask Allah (swt) for help, without his help we will be destroyed. Remember Allah (swt) in times of ease and he will remember you in times of difficulty. Before we do anything always say ‘Bismillah’.

Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa al-mustaqīm– Guide us to the Straight Path. Guide us to the straight path.

Ṣirāṭa al-laḏīnaanʿamtaʿalayhimġayri l-maġḍūbiʿalayhimwalā ḍ-ḍāllīn– The path of those whom Your blessings are upon, not of those whom You have cursed nor of those who have gone astray. Guide us to the straight path on the path of those whom you have bestowed your blessings and not on the path of the misguided.

(1)  Therefore when the slave says “Al ḥamdulillāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn” “praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds”, then Allah(swt) says “hummadinabidhi” “my slave has praised me”

Every time we recite a verse from Suah-Al-Fatiha Allah replies to it. He calls us by the title ‘Abdihi’, it is a good title, and one finds the completeness and humility. The greatest title we can be called is this – slave of Allah (Swt). A sweetness to the heart, happiness to the soul, coolness of eyes when Allah (swt) says to us ‘Abidihi’. He says what has increased me in honor and nobility, what has caused me to walk on the constellation of starsasif I am flying above the starts, what gives me the honor – for me to be amongst those whom Allah (swt) calls ‘Abidihi’. Hazrat Musa – alaysalam said to Allah(swt) to make him from the Ummah of prophet Muhammed(saws).

(2)  When we say “Arraḥmāni r-raḥīm” “The Abundantly Merciful , the constantly mercifulAllah (swt) says “aythnaalyheabidhi” “My slave has layered praise upon me”

(3)  “Malikiyonmiddeen” “Master of the Day of Judgment”, Allah (swt) says “majadeeniabidhi” “my slave has magnified Me”

(4)  “Iyyākanaʿbuduwaiyyākanastaʿīn”  “It is only You we worship and It is only You we ask for help” Allah(swt) says “Hadabayeneaaabidhi” “this is between me and my salve and for my salve is whatever he asks”. Even if you are a simple person or sinful person, Allah(swt) says this is between me and my slave

(5)  “Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa al-mustaqīm.

Allah (swt) says“All thisis for My slave, and my slave shall have what he asked for”.
