Sister Shamsiya is a child psychologist by profession and is passionate about psychology and sociology. She aims to eradicate cultural impacts of abuse, gender constraints and recidivism in the Muslim community. She has served as a freelance writer for the Times of India and as the Editor in Chief and Content Manager of Habibi Halaqas for more than 2 years. She is an avid reader, believes in living one day at a time and making the most of it.
She is an adamant believer of positivity. We can either live our lives complaining͵ depressed and in denial or by being happy͵ content and positive ~ the effort required is the same it is just a matter of choice. She someday hopes to sponsor an orphan, become a hafidha, complete her Ph.D in Clinical psychology and travel around the world.
She is an incorrigible dreamer and was recently awarded first prize in untamed chocolate eating and random facebook posting. Stumbling on the road of humility, she dreams of living her life under the shades of imaan, breezes of taqwa and envelopes of sabr. Islam is the best thing that has happened to her since sliced bread and she is ever grateful to her Lord – Allah Al Azeez for it. She loves to cook, eat and socialize.
